- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 small head of cabbage, shredded
- 1/2 cup diced onions
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 can (14 oz) diced tomatoes
- 1/2 cup beef broth
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- 1.Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- 2.In a large oven-safe skillet, cook the ground beef over medium-high heat until it's browned and no longer pink. Remove any excess fat.
- 3.Add the diced onions and minced garlic to the skillet with the cooked beef. Sauté for about 2-3 minutes until the onions become translucent.
- 4.Stir in the shredded cabbage and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until the cabbage begins to wilt.
- 5.Season the mixture with paprika, dried thyme, salt, and black pepper. Add the can of diced tomatoes (with their juice) and beef broth. Mix well.
- 6.Let the mixture simmer for about 5-7 minutes, allowing the flavors to combine and the cabbage to soften slightly.
- 7.Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the beef and cabbage mixture in the skillet.
- 8.Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake for about 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly, and the casserole is heated through.
